Parker College approached Aztec to create an application to replace the current Excel spreadsheet being used to record and report prerequisite requirements for students and prospective students. Parker used TEAMS ELITE for almost all student-history tracking, but needed additional features that TEAMS does not contain.

Aztec developed and deployed a Windows® application that provides Parker college with a seamless, enterprise view of student data. The application built scales to Parker's needs and allows for centralized data updates.

Parker defined a list of prerequisite classes that potential students must have before attending the school. They desired an application to identify the pre-requisite and required studies to allow an instant student history for staff when reviewing the file. Parker also wanted it to identify courses taken as CLEP courses and mark them accordingly. Parker specified that each course should be identified by course name and the grade achieved for that semester, with new records defaulting to a base setting. The ability to scan student transcripts and save them as an attachment to the student's record was desired.
Aztec developed a system that provides a more reliable solution than the Excel spreadsheet they used previously and one that addressed the areas of customization they required with the TEAMS database. The solution consisted of building the following areas: Degree Maintenance, Prerequisite Maintenance, Document Maintenance, and Student Prerequisite Entry. In all areas possible, it interfaces with the TEAMS database to use existing data.
The new application provides the Admissions office personnel with the ability to quickly and easily view a student's transfer status as well as notify the student of any prerequisite deficiencies that may apply. In addition to providing a quick and easy-to-use user interface for entering data, the system also provides reports that are both printable and emailable to the student, as well as a complete audit trail to track all changes to data back to their source.
The application was written in C#.Net and has a SQL database backend which has enabled Parker College to write additional reports as they need them through the use of Crystal Reports.
