Paul Jarvie
— Board Member ![]() Paul Jarvie served as President of ASAP Software, Inc. until 2008 when the company was acquired by Dell. After a brief transition period, he retired from Dell to pursue other interests. Jarvie began his 20 year career with ASAP Software as V.P. Marketing shortly after its launch and became President ten years later. He played a pivotal role in building the company from its entrepreneurial roots into one of the software industry;s largest IT product and service providers. During Paul's tenure, ASAP Software grew from a single location to 32 offices located throughout Europe and North America. Jarvie says the lessons he learned about managing an organization through the different phases of its life cycle are the most enduring. Jarvie was responsible for strategy and financial performance and maintained oversight of all functional areas on both continents. The company distinguished itself by consistently ranking as the most profitable competitor in its industry. Also, in a competition sponsored by Chicago Magazine, ASAP Software was honored as "One of the Best Places to Work in Chicago". With a degree in Advertising and an MBA from Arizona State University's W.P. Carey School of Business, Paul began his business career in New York at the Madison Avenue advertising agency of Sawdon & Bess. In his role as V.P., Account Services, he was responsible for the agency;s brand-building efforts for products as diverse as athletic shoes and frozen seafood. He left the advertising business in 1988 to join his college friend who founded ASAP Software in Chicago. Today Paul is the principal of JarvieVentures, sits on not-for-profit and corporate boards, and consults on business strategy. His interests include travel, skiing, biking, scuba diving, motorcycle-touring, cars, home remodeling - and the rock band led by his two college age sons. |
